JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic Business & Relationship Manager to join our team in Australia. The candidate must reside in Sydney, have the right to work in Australia and hold local knowledge on the travel industry in this region. 

In this role, the Business & Relationship Manager is responsible for identifying new opportunities for organic growth within Ensemble’s member travel agencies, along with supporting, training and deepening relationships with our members.

The role also incorporates managing relationships with our Hotel & Resort Partners who participate in our program across Australia & New Zealand, and other locations when Hotel Representatives are visiting this market. Assistance in general Supplier Relations is required when introducing preferred partners to our member agencies and at agent forums. 


Job Duties:

  1. Build relationships with Network Agencies, manage and train Front Line Agents on all Ensemble products
  2. Implement an effective communication program with Owners, Managers and Front Line Agents
  3. Analyze member needs in terms of current business obstacles, identifying opportunities and scoping potential sales through our preferred supplier portfolio
  4. Employ strategic relationship management strategies across a portfolio of AU/NZ hotel vendors ensuring these meet the business needs of our organisation
  5. Proactively seek and build meaningful engagement with the hotel business brands and individual hotel suppliers in AU/NZ to shape the continued success of our Ensemble Hotel & Resort Collection in this region
  6. Assist in Preferred Supplier meetings and seminars to learn about their products and contracts, with a view to educate member agencies on our Supplier offering
  7. Provide documented reviews of business plans with Members through utilization of Insights Reporting
  8. Explore and stay abreast of competition in an attempt to find and maintain a competitive edge. Act as a conduit between the member agency and Ensemble headquarters in terms of helping to define new or revamp existing Ensemble products and programs. The Business & Relationship Director will be the ultimate member agency advocate
  9. Must satisfy administrative requirements on time (e.g. expense reporting, member business plans, agency reports and supplier reporting when required)

Travel:

Travel up to 50% is expected for this position.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Position type & expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position is exempt from overtime.

Requirements

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • 5 years minimum experience in the travel industry in a similar position in Australia or New Zealand
  • 3 yrs experience in a relationship management role
  • 3 yrs experience with training small and large groups
  • Must have knowledge of travel agency operations
  • Proven experience managing business relationships and delivering ‘best in market’ travel programs to Travel Agencies
  • A background in managing multiple diverse projects, the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent negotiation skills, a strong oral and written communicator with exceptional presentation skills
  • Financial business acumen with analytical skills
  • Willing to travel (up to 50% of time) to meet with members and Preferred Partners


Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Higher Education – TAFE Diploma or University Degree
  • 10 years experience in agency and/or travel supplier
  • Proficient in Salesforce/CRM
  • Some supplier management experience
